Logistics Logistics Logistics Management
Diploma in Logistics Management
The concept of logistics management dates back to the ancient times. This concept has been a crucial element in determining whether a battle can be won.
Today, this ancient concept has penetrated the business sector, though it is still used widely in the military. This “science of the movement of goods” is so important that multinational corporations such as Dell, DHL, and FedEx rely heavily on effective and efficient logistics management as their competitive advantage.
In a competitive business environment, many try to specialise their business functions. On the contrary, logistics management consolidates various business functions, such as procurement, purchasing, storing, retrieval, distribution, and transportation, into one big industry. The logistics management field is projected to grow tremendously in the 21st century. Even our government is trying to explore ways to make our transportation system safer, more efficient, more reliable and more environmental friendly so that Malaysia becomes one of the world’s important logistics hub/centre.
Han Chiang College is among the first few PHEI in Malaysia to provide opportunities for students to enter this exciting industry. The courses offered under the Diploma in Logistics Management not only give graduates important knowledge to excel in the logistics industry but also expose them to the intricacies and interrelatedness of the various business functions.
Graduates of logistics management may be employed in a wide variety of job functions such as in fleet planning and management, freight forwarding, import/export documentation and procedures, inventory planning and management, warehouse planning and management.
